Pairing Jake's with wine
Wine is a perfect accompaniment to a Jake's pork pie. And vice versa. And while there's no right or wrong when it comes to pairing a Jake's with wine, here are a few ideas to get you started, from Dominic Lockyear of Fareham Wine Cellars (Matching wine with pork pie), and James Doidge of The Wine Treasury (What a right pair).
Based in Petersfield, Jake's is keen to promote the town, the county of Hampshire, and the fabulous area that is the South Downs National Park, which straddles East Hampshire and West Sussex.
The free-range pork that goes in to Jake's pies is sourced from this area, and if not then as close as possible to it.
Jake's is first and foremost a local supplier providing locally produced goods to local retailers - including farmshops, delis, pubs and cafes - as well as selling directly at markets in Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
Local stockists include Harting Stores, Madeleine's Kitchen and The Pub With No Name, while Jake's is a regular at the Hampshire Farmers' Market in Petersfield's market square on the first Sunday of the month.
Jake's is proud to be a member of Hampshire Fare, the county's local food group promoting Hampshire's indigenous producers of food, drink and crafts.
